چکیده
Red king crab (RKC) has become a valuable resource, and most of this fishery operates in quota-regulated area (QRA) east 26°E. West the QRA, free (FFA) is established to limit further migration. Today, juvenile RKCs from FFA are not utilized. This study investigated morphological quality parameters adult (≥800 g) after live holding (LH) 23 months starting juveniles (on average 500 g). During LH, were kept two separate tanks, one at ambient seawater temperature (AST) elevated (AST-E). The fed ad libitum. Both tanks divided into sections, with sand tray. After months, processed analyzed. hepatosomatic index, abdomen meat content, cluster yield, moisture, whiteness instrumental chewiness differed significantly ( P < 0.05 ) between wild or both LH groups. availability indicated improved habitat conditions as several positively affected. Also, lower variation morphology muscle was observed subgroups access than those without sand.

متن کاملHabitat structure influences the survival and predator–prey interactions of early juvenile red king crab Paralithodes camtschaticus
Highly structured nursery habitats promote the survival of juvenile stages of many species by providing foraging opportunities and refuge from predators. Through integrated laboratory and field experiments, we demonstrate that nursery habitat structure affects survival and predator-prey interactions of red king crab Paralithodes camtschaticus. Crabs (<1 yr old [Age 0]; 8 to 10 mm carapace lengt...

15 صفحه اولEffects of habitat complexity and relative larval supply on the establishment of early benthic phase red king crab (Paralithodes camtschaticus Tilesius, 1815) populations in Auke Bay, Alaska
Between September 1996 and May 1998, the influence of habitat complexity and larval supply on the establishment of early post-settlement populations of red king crab (Paralithodes camtschaticus) was studied in situ in Auke Bay, southeast Alaska. Dive transects and suction dredge surveys conducted during fall 1996 and spring 1998 indicated that late age 0 to 1 1 red king crabs were located only ...
